Ancient Amphora ("the App") is an educational iOS application about Greek artifacts, archaeological sites, and pottery traditions. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the App processes and how it is stored.
Information We Collect
The App does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location. All app content — artifact catalog, archaeological sites, and quiz material — is bundled within the App and available offline.
The App stores the following data locally on your device to support your learning progress:
- Collected artifacts and personal collection
- Field research notes you write for collected artifacts
- Quiz results, accuracy statistics, and answer streaks
- Visited archaeological sites on the discovery map
- Workshop session progress and Technique Spotter streaks
- Unlocked achievements and badges
- Haptic feedback preference
- Onboarding completion status
How Data Is Stored
All progress and preferences described above are stored locally on your device using Apple's standard on-device storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
Network & Third Parties
The App does not make network requests, does not use analytics services, and does not share data with third parties. No advertising networks or tracking technologies are used.
Data Deletion
You can reset all progress at any time from Profile → Settings → Reset Progress. This clears your collection, notes, quiz stats, map visits, spotter progress, and achievements. Uninstalling the App also removes all locally stored data from your device.
Children's Privacy
The App is designed as an educational resource and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
